Dr Richard Mischak MBA, PhD, MSc
Prof. Richard Mischak was educated in Austria, starting his career with IBM joining the faculty at La Hulpe, Belgium. After completing his MBA at INSEAD, he was appointed a corporate banker at a Credit Swiss Bank in Zurich and covered for selected clients their banking needs worldwide. A period in New York with Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) followed where he was in the team that initiated and implemented the entirely new financial derivatives (interest-rate swaps, currency-swaps).
In 1986, he was appointed European marketing finance manager at Digital Equipment Corporation, (DEC) Geneva. He moved that position to London, and after 5 years he become managing director of KPMG Austria — when Deutsche Bahn, Neckermann, AUDI Hungary, and Ljubljana Stock Exchange invited him to re-evaluate their operations.
He headed up CSC Index Germany located in Munich, where he ‘re-engineered’ several German and global companies, his efforts much appreciated and applauded by Barclays UK, Siemens in Russia, Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia, and the Kuwaiti Port’s Authority.
Richard’s experience stimulated an invitation from Salzburg University of Applied Sciences join their faculty where he is currently Professor and Head of Business Management & Strategy.
