Different sponsors, among them CRI, and other volunteers supported the initiative to help the association realise its two new projects: decorate the newly rebuilt Emergency and Intensive Care Unit and enlist play therapy experts to help children cope with their pain and suffering. Dominique Biarent, Head of Unit, informed more on the two projects in the course of the evening. An auction with items offered by the sponsors and a tombola raised considerable money to help the children.
The Champions’ Night for Children was attended by preeminent people of the Belgian and international society in Brussels, among them H.E. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council. Several well-know Belgian sportsmen also committed, such as Kim Clijsters, Eddy Merckx and the Anderlecht Football Team. Many top-rated financial leaders and ambassadors from different countries also participated in the event.
The gastronomic dinner was prepared by Pierre Wynants, the renowned Belgian chef from Comme chez Soi.
