The intranet will support EIGE’s Knowledge Centre and facilitate the networking, communication and collaboration of the institute’s personnel, often working in remote locations. Its aim is to eliminate obstacles such as the lack of structure in the network drive, where every department and every employee places their work products, the lack of a commonly agreed procedure for document versioning and the massive load of inner emails sent from employee to employee.
CRI will run the project through its different phases: initiation, analysis, design, construction, testing, preparation for system start, system installation/trial and last but not least, the post-launch phase to deliver technical supervision services and assure the intranet’s overall quality. CRI will convert all data migrated from the institute’s legacy systems, such as the institute’s shared hard disc drive, to the intranet.
The system will comprise of six functional areas: document management, communications management, task management, project management, knowledge management and collaboration management.
